Technologies at Our Dental Clinic

The technology used at Kennedy East Dental helps to inform treatment planning and make your dental appointments more efficient. We can display any digital scans and X-rays on the monitors in our treatment rooms, show you any oral health issues in your mouth and guide you through your treatment plan.

We're on a mission to provide our patients with efficient dental care and ensure they are fully informed about their oral health. Dental technology helps us achieve this goal.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays have seen digital sensors replace traditional photographic X-ray film. Today's X-rays produce highly detailed computer images of the teeth and gums, as well as other oral structures and conditions, allowing your dentist to see parts of the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.

Panoramic X-Rays

With panoramic X-rays, your dentist can create a single flat image of your entire mouth. This image represents the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and nasal and sinus structures. Panoramic X-rays are often used to assist in treatment planning for implants, dentures, extractions and braces.

Soft Tissue Dental Lasers

Dental lasers (extremely focused light beams) are used in a range of soft tissue procedures, typically for healing and repair purposes. At Kennedy East Dental, our dentists can perform patients such as treating periodontal disease, lengthening crowns or reshaping gums while reducing pain and limiting the need for medical interventions.

Oral Cancer Screening Device

The VELscope® is an oral cancer screening device that helps the dentist to find abnormalities and diseases in the mouth, such as cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. Using fluorescence visualization technology, your dentist can complete an oral cancer screening in our office during routine exams and under normal lighting conditions in about two minutes.
